Root Canal Re-Treatment

In rare cases, primary root canal treatments fail to work as expected. In these cases, root canal re-treatment provides a second chance to save the tooth.

Re-treatment is a procedure where the tooth is re-opened to gain access to the previous fill material. The old fill material is removed, the canals are re-cleaned and the inside of the tooth is carefully examined to search for any additional canals or unusual anatomy that requires further treatment. After cleaning the canals, they will be filled and sealed, and a temporary restoration will be placed. You will need to return to your dental office for a permanent restoration or crown to regain full functionality of the tooth.
